What's Up, Buttercup?

"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way" Despite everything; I never heard you complain. You were one of the happiest and nices people I have met in my entire life...happy when it would be perfectly understandable to refuse to get out of bed in the morning. That's what made you so strong.

CHRISTA THOMPSON! followed by EMILY WITT! and a mutual, "What's up, Buttercup?" before bursting out in giggles. That is what I remeber most. Everytime we saw each other in the halls, in class in 8th grade, at football games, whenever; it was always exactly the same. And i loved that. So much.
IFTA bus and summer. running around in the bathroom and class...
Sitting in 8th grade science...talking about NASCAR...LIGHTBULBS!, obessions and all. I just can't believe we don't have that chance anymore. I hate that we lost touch this past year...but everytime i saw you in the halls, even with the short time, we had our usual greeting...pared with you're beaming smile. There is so much i could say...but i'll try and leave it short.
Lots of love. Rest in Peace. Forever and for always girl; bittersweet release.

We cannot go back. There is no point in regretting things we said or never got to say; things we did or didn't do. Christa lived the short 17 years she had living her life to the fullest; and that's what we all need to learn from this. Bad things happen, but take everything in stride

"I guess I'm learning, little by little, that we decide what our lives are going to be. Things happen to us, but it's our reactions that matter."

Love Always,
Emily Witt
